Expert IT Functional Analyst (Finance/Python)
Join a leading financial services project in Brussels as an Expert IT Functional Analyst. You will be instrumental in a key P&L project, translating complex financial concepts into robust technical solutions. Your mission involves designing, developing, and testing applications using Python, SQL, and Access. This role requires a deep understanding of financial mathematics and ALM business concepts, combined with strong analytical and Agile development skills to deliver high-quality, performance-driven results.
Responsibilities:
Elaborate on detailed technical designs based on the analysis of financial processes.
Develop, code, and test new functionalities primarily using Python.
Provide accurate workload estimations for development tasks.
Prepare and document the installation and integration of solutions into production environments.
Support the quality assurance team during testing phases, including bug fixing.
Maintain clear documentation of development activities (design, code, unit tests).
We are seeking an Expert IT Functional Analyst for a long-term mission within the financial sector. The project focuses on the evolution of a critical Profit & Loss (P&L) system. You will analyze existing processes, design detailed technical solutions, and perform hands-on development in Python. Your expertise in financial mathematics or actuarial science will be crucial to understand business needs and propose innovative, efficient solutions. You will work within an Agile team to develop, test, and deploy features that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Functional or Technical Analyst (mandatory).
Master's degree in Financial Mathematics or Actuarial Science (mandatory).
Practical, hands-on knowledge of Python, SQL, and MS Access for data manipulation and analysis (mandatory).
In-depth business knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM) (mandatory).
Experience working with an Agile mindset and delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) (mandatory).
Strong soft skills: team player, accurate, rigorous, and methodical.
Language requirements: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language (French or Dutch).
