Expert Data Engineer
Join our team as an Expert Data Engineer for a leading financial institution in Brussels. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and industrializing robust data solutions. Your mission is to make data securely available for reporting and analytics by creating efficient data models and pipelines. This role requires strong expertise in SAS EG, SQL, and Oracle, along with a deep understanding of the banking sector's data challenges. You will transform business needs into high-performance data assets.
Responsibilities:
Collect business requirements and translate them into efficient data solutions.
Design robust data flows, data models (logical & physical), and data stores.
Analyze and select the best 'golden' sources for data integration.
Develop and industrialize data pipelines, from ingestion to delivery, for enterprise-wide use.
Prototype solutions to support business validation and user feedback.
In this key role, you will contribute to a major data transformation program within a leading financial services organization. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering reliable data assets for bank-wide usage. Your work will directly impact the productivity of all data consumers by providing well-designed and efficient data warehouses, datamarts, and datasets. You'll bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring data is a core asset for reporting and strategic applications.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics).
At least 6 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics and Engineering (mandatory).
Strong, proven experience with SAS EG, SQL, and Oracle (mandatory).
Previous experience in the banking/financial sector and project management (mandatory).
Knowledge of Python, Power BI, or Tableau is a significant asset.
Pro-active, autonomous, with strong communication and analytical skills.
Language skills: Native French or Dutch is required; English is a plus.
